Philip Seymour Hoffman, whose best known for his work with Paul Thomas Anderson in The Master, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, as well as his Oscar-winning role in Capote, has died at the age of 46. There is no cause of death at this time, as he was found dead in his Manhattan apartment. I’m not here to speculate, but I wanted to write this as a tribute. Hoffman was easily one of the finest actors in the history of the medium, and his role in The Master in my opinion ranks among some of the finest I’ve ever seen on film. He is survived by his wife, and their three children. My hearts and prayers are with Mr. Hoffman’s family at this time.
